What Is a Court Readiness Pack?

What is a Court Readiness Pack?
A Court Readiness Pack is a single, organised collection of the documents and facts behind an unpaid commercial debt. Rather than scattered emails and PDFs, it brings the key evidence together in one place: who owes what, why it is owed, what was agreed, and what has happened since the invoice fell overdue.
The aim is to make a claim easy to assess. If you, a colleague, or a solicitor need to decide whether and how to pursue a debt, a well-ordered pack saves time and surfaces gaps in the evidence early. It is a preparation and organisation tool — it does not create any legal status by itself, and it is not lodged with a court.
What is inside a Court Readiness Pack?
Contents vary with the case, but a pack typically gathers and orders the following:
| Section | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Parties | The creditor and the debtor business, with identifying details such as company numbers where relevant. |
| The debt | The unpaid invoice(s), amounts, dates, and due dates. |
| Contract and terms | The agreement, purchase order, or terms of business the debt is based on. |
| Correspondence | Reminders, chasers, any Letter Before Action, and the debtor's replies. |
| Payment history | Part-payments, promises to pay, and the outstanding balance. |
| Chronology | A dated timeline of what happened, from order to overdue. |
| Interest and costs | Any statutory interest or compensation being claimed, set out clearly. |
| Supporting documents | Delivery notes, timesheets, signed proofs, or other records that evidence the work or goods. |
Who uses a Court Readiness Pack?
Finance teams, business owners, and credit controllers use a pack to organise the evidence before deciding whether to escalate an overdue invoice. A clear bundle makes an internal go/no-go decision faster and more defensible.
If the matter goes to a solicitor, a complete pack means they spend less time gathering records and more time advising. It is also useful for compliance and audit reviews, where someone needs to see the full picture of a disputed or long-overdue account in one place.
What a Court Readiness Pack is not
A Court Readiness Pack is not an official or certified court document, and it is not a court filing. Preparing a pack does not start a court claim, does not create a County Court Judgment, and does not guarantee that a debt will be recovered. It is an organised set of your own records — its weight depends entirely on the underlying evidence and the facts of the case.
Court rules expect parties to exchange information and try to resolve a dispute before issuing a claim. A pack helps you prepare for that, but it does not replace legal advice and is not a substitute for the formal steps a court or solicitor may require.
How does WolfX build one?
WolfX is software, not a law firm. It helps UK B2B businesses pull the relevant records from the Evidence Vault — the invoice, contract, correspondence, and payment history — and arrange them into a structured, consistently formatted Court Readiness Pack with a chronology and a summary of the claim.
The output is an organised bundle you can review internally, hand to a solicitor, or use to support a pre-action decision. WolfX does not file court claims, does not collect payments, and does not provide legal advice. You stay in control of whether and how to act on the pack.
WolfX is software for evidence-backed invoice recovery workflows. WolfX is not a law firm, debt collection agency, court, or payment processor. This site provides general information, not legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
Is a Court Readiness Pack an official court document?
No. It is an organised bundle of your own evidence and records. It is not an official or certified court document, and preparing it does not give it any formal legal status.
Is building a Court Readiness Pack the same as filing a claim?
No. A pack helps you prepare and review a case. It does not start a court claim, create a County Court Judgment, or get lodged with a court. WolfX does not file court claims for users.
Can a solicitor use a Court Readiness Pack?
Yes. A complete, well-ordered pack is designed to be handed to a solicitor so they can assess the claim quickly. It supports legal advice but is not a substitute for it.
